I've been creating for as long as I can remember... from paint-by-number kits, candle-making kits, and "borrowing" mom's Instamatic camera to take pictures of my toys! Years of 4-H photography projects and taking pictures for our high school yearbook culminated in a photography degree from the very intense program at the Colorado Institute of Art.That degree, and a few years working in commercial photography, did much to dampen my love of photography and my creativity. When my creativity awakened a few years later, I ended up finding a new medium: clay. A couple of years later, I ventured into glass... then started exploring quilting with a friend, taking classes to learn techniques that intrigued us both. Currently it is the glass and the quilting that I'm focused on, as they seem to enhance and inspire each other in design and color. |

We live at an elevation of nearly 7000 feet, in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colorado. An active 3-year old daughter seriously limits my artistic time these days, but somehow, I manage to squeeze things in during naptimes and bedtimes. Please feel free to contact me if anything on my site piques your interest! Denise Bohart Brown 970-871-8787 |
